We start this tour in Puerto Jiménez at 5:10 AM on the first day, grabbing a coffee and a small snack. Our driver will take us to Carate, where the adventure begins. After a 3-kilometer hike, we’ll reach the entrance to Corcovado National Park, the most biologically intense place in the world.
On this day, our hike will be 16 kilometers, encountering various animals and many beautiful landscapes.
Day 1: Meet at Monar Bakery (5:10 AM), where you’ll meet your guide for the adventure. You can enjoy a coffee and a snack if you wish before heading to the car to go to Carate or to the dock to board the boat to Sirena. During the boat trip, you can enjoy beautiful sunrises and scenic landscapes. With luck, you may see marine life like turtles, dolphins, or whales, depending on the season. Upon arriving in Sirena, you will meet the park ranger, register, and settle into the station. Then, you will begin exploring the various trails in Sirena, return to the station for lunch and rest a bit before heading to other trails later in the day. At 6 PM, dinner will be served and you will rest to prepare for the next day’s journey, coordinated with your experienced guide.
Day 2 You will be ready at the agreed time for breakfast or a packed breakfast to start the approximately 6-7 hour hike to Carate (21 km). You will travel through jungle trails and beaches, enjoying a wide variety of flora and fauna, crossing rivers, until you reach Carate. There, you will take a car ride back to Puerto Jiménez. If you are taking the boat, then you will hike other trails as the departure time of the boat approaches.
